Fanny Crouet Schneider
In this unique guided experience, acclaimed lyric soprano Fanny Crouet Schneider invites visitors to discover the museum through the lens of opera. Moving through the galleries, she reveals unexpected connections between masterpieces of the operatic repertoire and the works on display, creating a dialogue between visual art, music, poetry, and spirituality.
From the longing of love and the search for the beloved, to transformation, elevation, and odes to nature and spirituality, opera and Sufism speak a remarkably similar emotional language. Through carefully selected excerpts, stories from the history of opera, and live vocal performances woven throughout the visit, familiar works by composers such as Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, and others become gateways to exploring selected pieces of the collection of the museum and their underlying spiritual signification.
Building on the museum’s commitment to creating interdisciplinary dialogues, this experience brings opera and Sufism into conversation, revealing how both traditions grapple with the same timeless questions and explorations of human beings. Visitors are invited to explore these shared human experiences while encountering the museum’s collection from an entirely new perspective. This journey demonstrates that the most profound works of art often transcend geography, language, and tradition, speaking directly to the human heart.

Fanny Crouet Schneider graduated from the École Normale de Musique de Paris. She further refined her training in Munich through a scholarship from the Akademie der Musik Deutschland and in Vienna under the guidance of conductor Niels Muus (Mozarthaus, Volksoper).
A prizewinner in numerous national and international competitions, she began her career performing some of the most demanding coloratura soprano roles, including the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, the Fairy in Massenet’s Cendrillon, the title role in Lakmé, as well as Fire and the Nightingale in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges. She has also performed many Viennese operetta heroines, particularly in the works of Johann Strauss, as well as leading Mozart roles. Her bright, agile voice is now increasingly focused on the bel canto repertoire of Donizetti, Rossini, Bellini, and Verdi, as well as the operas of Handel.
Fanny Crouet Schneider has appeared as a soloist at the Opéra de Tours, Opéra de Massy, Guangzhou Opera House, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Théâtre de l’Odéon–Opéra de Marseille, Steinway Haus Munich, the House of Music in Budapest, the National Library of Morocco, Salle Gaveau, Salle Cortot, and numerous international festivals, as well as major concert arenas throughout France. Her first recording, devoted to the songs of Léo Delibes, was awarded the Orphée d’Or by the Académie du Disque Lyrique.
