The Desire That Drives Us
The Neuroscience of Motivation, Passion, and Flow

In conjunction with the exhibition dedicated to “Desire of the Heart,” this conference invites participants to explore the silent forces that deeply drive us.

Drawing on neuroscience, psychology, and Sufi wisdom, this workshop will examine the different facets of desire: the desire that seeks a reward and fades as soon as it is satisfied; the desire that arises from lack and separation; and the more subtle desire that Sufi tradition calls *shogh* in Persian, sometimes translated as “passion.” We will also explore the state of flow—that moment when attention and inner momentum finally align, becoming a source of creation.

This conference invites everyone to distinguish between these movements of desire, to better understand how they shape our inner lives.
