Zendeh Delan and special guest, Ney player Bilgehan Fener

Experience one of the most intimate and refined forms of Persian classical music through Sāz o Āvāz (“Instrument and Voice”). This centuries-old tradition brings together a vocalist and an instrumentalist in a spontaneous musical dialogue, where poetry, melody, and improvisation unfold in response to one another.

Rooted in the rich heritage of Persian literature and closely associated with the spiritual traditions that have shaped Iranian culture, Sāz o Āvāz invites listeners into a contemplative space where music becomes a vehicle for contemplation, reflection, and elevation. Each performance is unique, offering a deeply personal encounter with the expressive power of voice, poetry, and sound.

Special guest, Ney player Bilgehan Fener
As part of the exhibition The Heart’s Desire, Turkish ney player Bilgehan Fener joins a series of unique musical encounters: the Saz o Avaz Sessions.
From Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October, Bilgehan collaborates with musicians from the Zendeh Delan Ensemble in intimate duos and trios, conceived as true dialogues between cultures. The ancestral breath of the ney interweaves with voices in Farsi and Italian, oud, guitar and harp, creating sound textures as moving as they are unexpected. Each thirty-minute session is a unique encounter, shaped by the sensitivity of each musician and the magic of the moment. No two are alike — it is the meeting itself that composes the music. A rare experience, suspended between East and West, tradition and modernity, inviting audiences on a deeply personal journey through the heart of the exhibition.
