AragoRn Boulanger
French
AragoRn Boulanger offers you an afternoon of immersion in Persian calligraphy, with 2 consecutive workshops of 2 hours each: “initiation” and “progression”:
The first workshop, intended for novice beginners, during which you will discover the fundamentals of classical calligraphy; the search for harmony and balance in the calligraphic sign, and familiarize yourself with the tools and aesthetic rules specific to this traditional art.
The second workshop, directly accessible after your initiation, is designed for those who have already taken a workshop with AragoRn, and wish to discover a little more of the spirit of calligraphy, or advance their gesture by diving into learning.
AragoRn’s practice is at the intersection of artistic, live, and visual disciplines. A professional dancer and choreographer since 2001, he has developed a physical technique of movement inspired by paintings and drawings that depict curves, voids, and fullness in a dynamic relationship. He has collaborated with significant contemporary artists such as Andy Degroat, Michel Schweizer, and Bob Wilson, as well as with the company 14:20 in their research on “New Magic.” These diverse experiences have gradually led him to focus on the anagogic role of art and its ability to connect us to a higher dimension. As a natural extension of dance and the movement of curves, he approaches Arabic and Persian calligraphy, which he studied traditionally for five years under the Iranian master Bahman Panahi and the Tunisian calligrapher Hamda Yacoub. In 2021, he joined Gare Expérimentale, a collective of independent Parisian artists, where he has a studio dedicated to his calligraphic creations and has since participated in several exhibitions and individual or group visual art projects.
