Pareidolia, in a joyful play of sensory aleatory, give free rein to colour and brushstrokes on your board until you find yourself immersed in a misty universe of new shapes. With ink, you will bring to life these characters straight out of your subconscious!

Don’t miss this opportunity for discovery and creativity, at the crossroads of art, play and imagination.

Margaux Laurens-Neel (1997, FR) is a French-British artist who lives and works in Paris. She graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in June 2021, having trained in the studios of Joann Sfar (comic book author), Éric Poitevin (photographer) and Claude Dumas (designer and sculptor). She also benefited from two successive Erasmus programmes, with an exchange at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in 2019, followed by an internship in Kirsi Mikkola’s studio in Berlin in 2020. Margaux Laurens-Neel’s fantastical universe is as repulsive as it is attractive: she skilfully plays with the codes of femininity and masculinity, depicting imposing bodies worthy of the greatest mythologies. Often accompanied by animals, her characters appear as symbols and prophecies. The use of bright colours with a wide variety of techniques and her seemingly classical style create a true convergence between contemporary art and themes from art history.
