Echoing the exhibition When the Mirror Remembers the Trace, this workshop offers an immersion into the world of Persian book art through geometry, the symbolism of shapes, and the practice of drawing.
Led by Ghazaleh Esmailpour Qouchani, PhD in art history and scientific advisor at the MACS MTO®, the workshop combines historical input, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. It is open to anyone with an interest in the subject, with no prerequisites.
After an introduction to the history and principles of Persian book art, participants will discover the geometric foundations of traditional motifs, with a particular focus on the star shape and its symbolism.
The session continues with a demonstration of geometric construction inspired by traditional methods, followed by a practical session during which each participant creates their own eight-pointed star using simple tools.
