The history of the MTO Shahmaghsoudi® school has been shaped by its masters. Each Sufi master passed on lessons to their disciples, guiding them along the spiritual path. For 1,400 years, a continuous lineage of Sufi masters has been upheld, from Oveys Qaranī to the present master, Professor Nader Angha.
In the 20th century, the MTO (Maktab Tarighat Oveyssi) school became MTO Shahmaghsoudi® in honor of Hazrat Shah Maghsoud Sadegh Angha, who helped introduce Sufism to a wider audience.
Today, MTO Shahmaghsoudi® is an international non-profit organization with over 150 learning centers worldwide, spanning across six continents.
MTO Shahmaghsoudi® supports charitable and educational projects. The school teaches Sufi meditation (Tamarkoz®), Sufi psychology, and various artistic and cultural activities, including Sufi music.
