Through the lens of Sufism, this lecture invites participants to explore a vision of the human being founded on the profound unity of existence.
The heart is presented as the center of being—a place of presence, knowledge, and inner growth. Desire, rather than being understood as a lack to be fulfilled, is seen as one expression of a greater reality that manifests itself in different forms throughout the spiritual journey.
Drawing on concepts such as seeking (talab), ardent longing (shawq), annihilation of the self (fanā), and union (wisāl), the lecture explores how the Sufi tradition understands these experiences not as separate realities, but as multiple expressions of a single source.
An invitation to reflect on the heart, desire, and the deeper nature of the human being through one of the great wisdom traditions of the Muslim world.

Bahman AFSAR
With a background in economics and political science, and a passion for art and culture, Bahman AFSAR has focused his research and experience primarily on Sufism for over thirty years. Accustomed to addressing audiences with spiritual practice or experience, he shares his insights on Sufism in a simple and accessible language.
