Saz-o-Avaz: meeting between traditional Persian music and poetic recitations

The Saz-o-Avaz presentation by members of MTO Zendeh Delan is a captivating experience that blends traditional Persian music with poetic recitations. The presentation features vocal renditions of Ghazals, a classical form of Persian poetry known for its rhythmic flow and deep emotional expression. These recitations are beautifully accompanied by the enchanting melodies of the Persian Santour, a hammered dulcimer that adds a rich, resonant sound to the performance. Together, the vocals and instrumental accompaniment create a harmonious interplay, embodying the essence of Sufi spiritual and artistic traditions. This fusion of voice and Santour elevates the Ghazal to new levels of emotive and musical expression. This presentation will be followed by a discovery of samāʿ.
