Célia Gondol (born in 1985 in Grenoble, France) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Paris. Trained initially as a contemporary dancer, her background in movement and choreography continues to influence her practice rooted in performance, installation, sculpture and sound, impacting her creative approach. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, earning her diploma (DNSAP) in 2014, Célia Gondol explores the poetics of gestures and repetition, working with light and sound evocating meditative states and embodied experiences. The artist focuses on the transmission of memory through bodies and movement, drawing on folk traditions, musical structures and encouraging intuitive processes to create an open environment where presence unfolds.
She has exhibited in group shows including the “62e Salon de Montrouge” (2017), and Do Disturb at the Palais de Tokyo (Paris, 2017) and Revenir du présent, regards croisés sur la scène actuelle at the Lambert Collection in Avignon (2024). Her solo exhibitions include the Monteverita gallery in Paris (2018), with Des îles désertes for the Double Séjour project in Ivry-sur-Seine (2020) as well as Les Formes du transfert at the Magasins généraux in Pantin (2022) and Les Mains sans sommeil, with the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès, at the Forum / Ginza Maison Hermès, Tokyo (Japan).
