Han Mengyun

Han Mengyun is an interdisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and poet born in Wuhan and based between London and China. Her practice, which she describes through the concepts of “Day” and “Night”, blends painting, writing, film, and textile installation to explore cultural exchanges between Asia, the Middle East, and the West, as well as questions of memory, femininity, and transmission. For Le désir du cœur (The Desire of the Heart), she presents a miniature installation, the Pavilion of Mirrors, which incorporates her drawings and prints from the “Scattered Pearls” series, along with manuscripts from the collection. Her interdisciplinary practice weaves together Eurasian intellectual and visual traditions, from the painting of Persian and Indian manuscripts to Chinese woodblock printing.
