Sanaz Mazinani

 

Sanaz Mazinani is an Iranian artist, educator and curator based in Tsí Tkarón: to (Toronto), the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe peoples, including the Mississauga of Credit, Chippewa, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat. A multidisciplinary artist working in photography, sculpture, and large-scale multimedia installations, she creates works that invite us to rethink our vision and experience of knowledge. Her practice, informed by visual rhetoric and the disorienting ubiquity of media, aims to politicize the proliferation and dissemination of images, invites critical reflection, and is at the forefront of social and environmental movements.
