Appointed as Director of the Musée d’Art et de Culture Soufis MTO in 2023, Alexandra Baudelot is an experienced director of artistic and cultural institutions both in France and abroad. In 2021, she led the design and development of cultural and artistic projects at the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire (MAH) in Geneva, and from 2019-2021, she developed the design of Le Pavillon at the Jardin d’Agronomie Tropicale in Paris. In 2019, she joined the Fiminco Foundation as Artistic Director, designing and implementing an innovative artistic and cultural policy based on support for multidisciplinary creation, with the programme focussing on artists from low and middle income countries. From 2013-2019 she co-directed Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers and from 2009-2013, she founded and ran the Paris-based independent art space ROSASCAPE.
Baudelot has curated exhibitions, directed live performances and been responsible for the cultural programming of some 50 projects in France and abroad—with artists including Uriel Orlow, Katinka Bock, Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, Paloma Polo, Lenio Kaklea, Latifa Laâbissi, Grace Ndiritu, Ulla von Brandenburg, Miriam Cahn, Latifa Echakhch, Fabien Giraud, Camille Henrot, Raymond Gervais, Benoît Maire, and Vittorio Santoro. She has also edited and been editorial director for numerous artists’ books, artist monographs, and contemporary art magazines. She is a regular contributor to teaching programmes and participates in conferences and workshops in France and overseas.
