Eric Delpont was appointed to the board of MACS MTO in July 2024.
He is a History of Art and Museology graduate of the École du Louvre. Since 1985 he has worked at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris leading on audiovisual productions and temporary exhibitions, managing exhibition catalogues, and curating heritage and thematic exhibitions including Medicine during Caliph’s Times (1996), The Heritage of Algeria (2003), and Arts of Islam, Masterpieces from the Khalili Collection (2009). He was appointed director in 2012 and has been responsible for the institute’s Islamic art collection since 2002. From 2009-2012 he oversaw the renovation of the institute (narrative and display).
Recently, Eric worked on two exhibitions produced by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Culture, Scripts and Calligraphy: A Timeless Journey in 2021 and Scripts and Calligraphy: Paths to the Soul in 2023. He was named Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2019.
