Parastou Youssefi was appointed to the board of MACS MTO in July 2024.
She brings significant experience in the philanthropy and nonprofit sectors. Parastou is a senior knowledge expert in philanthropy at McKinsey & Company in San Francisco, where she advises on the design and implementation of philanthropic strategies, initiatives, and partnerships; grantmaking; impact evaluation; and governance. Previously, she spent ten years at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as a senior program officer on the Philanthropic Partnerships team.
Parastou is a founding board member and chair of the American Friends of Sufi Arts, Culture and Knowledge (AFSACK), and advisory board member of the GivingTuesday Data Commons. She is a graduate of UC Berkeley and Harvard Kennedy School.
