What is Tamarkoz® ?
The Tamarkoz method is the art of self-knowledge through concentration and meditation. Tamarkoz is a Persian word meaning “concentration” and refers to the gathering of forces in the vital center of the heart. It’s a holistic and practical way to regain and maintain health, fulfillment, well-being and a disciplined way of life. The practice promotes deep balance of body and mind.
The origins of Tamarkoz
The Tamarkoz® method, also known as “Sufi Meditation”, has been rooted in the tradition of Sufism for 1400 years. Professor Sadegh Angha and Professor Nader Angha, two great Sufi masters, developed Tamarkoz® in its present form and made it available to the widest possible audience worldwide.
Tamarkoz® offers a combination of several categories of exercise, affordable to all, with both immediate and long-term benefits.

The Tamarkoz® method
- Mental Relaxation
Mental relaxation is designed to calm mental agitation and strengthen the connection between mind and body.
These techniques, combined with deep breathing, calm mental activity and nourish the brain’s subtle electromagnetic waves. When the mind is at peace, the body is filled with vital forces, enabling it to heal.
- Movazeneh® physical exercises
These are movements that restore balance to the body and strengthen the circulation of electromagnetic energy in the body.
Movazeneh means “to balance”. Exercises are performed in a state of concentration and focus on the heart. Movazeneh is combined with deep breathing to strengthen the body’s immune system.
- Breathing exercises
Breathing exercises focus on the rhythm, duration and depth of breathing. They revitalize the body’s cells and stimulate energy centers.
- Deep relaxation
This consists of a series of gentle stretches that rid the body of mental and physical fatigue. The release of muscular and nervous tension renews the cells’ energy resources, enabling one to experience a different dimension of the mind-body relationship.
- Visualization
It replaces negative mental images with positive, encouraging ones, bringing about a positive change in our habits and reducing stress levels. Visualization exercises are performed in a state of deep relaxation. All five senses are involved.
- Concentration
Once these five techniques have been mastered, Tamarkoz (concentration) can be achieved. Students unify their brainwaves with their heart and, in a state of deep relaxation, focus all their attention on a single point in the heart. Correct practice of Tamarkoz will bring mental stability and profound peace, leading to a heart-centered state of consciousness and ultimate awareness of the true essence of the human being.
It is through the path of the heart that Tamarkoz® develops love, hope, understanding and patience.
