When Sound Meets the Body: A Sensory and Scientific Journey
Echoing the exhibition « Resonant: Bodies, Songs, and Strings », Prof. Nirvana Sadaghianloo invites you on a journey between science and sensory experience to discover how sound and vibrations influence our well-being.
Drawing on neurophysiological knowledge, she will explain how our system perceives vibrations—whether sound or mechanical—and how these stimuli are now used in medicine to support the rehabilitation of certain neurosensory, motor, or emotional disorders.
How do the vibrations from instruments or voices resonate within us? What impact can they have on regulating our emotions and emotional memory? These questions will be explored during the session, where participants will be invited to experience for themselves the attentive listening to the instruments played live by the musicians of the ensemble Zendeh Delan and the resonances within their bodies.
